On Wednesday 11 July 2012, in Rome, the chair of the PNA presided over a side event at the FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI) meeting on Pacific island conservation and management of the world's largest tuna fishery.  The event attracted about 30 high level reps, including those from governments (US, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Mexico), IGOs (FFA, world bank), and NGOs (Greenpeace, MSC).  Joan Yang provided opening remarks on behalf of the Govt of Nauru, and PNA Chair Nannette Malsol followed with a presentation and videos outlining the past, present and future of PNA tuna management.
