Majuro, Marshall Islands – March 23 to April 2nd
Information Technology Officers from across the Parties to the Nauru Agreement gathered in Majuro for a two week Drupal Training Workshop hosted at the PNA Office from March 23 to April 2. The workshop gave participants practical skills to build, manage, and secure websites using Drupal, a widely used content management system.

This was the second Drupal training workshop delivered by the PNA Office for Party IT Officers under its ongoing Capacity Development Programme. It formed part of the Office’s wider effort to strengthen technical capacity across the region and help Party offices manage secure and reliable website systems with greater confidence.

PNAO CEO Dr. Sangaalofa Clark saw the need to better equip and develop IT Officers in the region and invited Eighty Options to lead the training. Eighty Options is an established Australian software development company that builds applications for many fisheries organizations across the Pacific.

Throughout the workshop, participants learned key Drupal skills step by step. They worked on site building, content structure, user roles and permissions, security, and website management. The sessions gave them hands on experience and helped them apply these skills in their own work.

Many of the IT Officers expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the support provided by the PNAO Office.

In her closing remarks, the CEO, Dr. Sangaalofa Clark, thanked the participants for taking part in the workshop and embracing a new area of learning. She said the training is an investment in the professional development of IT Officers. She added that it gives staff the knowledge and skills to contribute more effectively to their work in their respective governments.
